About Richard

I came in contact with the Alexander Technique while suffering chronic back pain. I spent many years searching for the cause and for a cure to my problem, and eventually came across the Alexander Technique. It was then that I realised that it may have been something that I was doing which was the cause of my problems. By implementing the Alexander Technique and changing my lifestyle my back improved and the pain disappeared.

I learnt the technique initially from attending a weekend workshop, reading books about the Alexander Technique and taking individual lessons. It helped me to become more aware of my movement in everyday activities, and I learnt how best to use myself to promote the health, as opposed to the deterioration, of my body.

In 2012 I enrolled on the 3-year, 1600-hour training course in Galway with Richard Brennan, and I am now a qualified teacher of the Alexander Technique.

When teaching the Alexander Technique, I deal with issues of back pain, stress, low energy and long-term injuries. I offer individual lessons in Clondalkin, Dublin.
